How is it possible that an agent, Jerome Anderson of Kentaro, is running Blackburn Rovers from Sams old office! How is it possible to dismiss Chief Executive Chairman John Williams after 14 years of guiding Blackburn Rovers through the financial minefield of the premiership, keeping them afloat and punching above their weight?
How is it possible that a well run family friendly small Lancashire town club can dismiss Alladyce and Williams at a whip? Accompanied with only snide comments to send them on their way?
The answer has to be two fold. New Chairman Mrs A. Desai said on Alladyce's departure she "Likes to be entertained" . One can only presume Alladyce's style of football wasn't entertaining enough, she should had been at the last home game verses Newcastle she would have been pleading for big Sam to return. Rovers managed a new premiership record that day not one shot on target by the home side! It was absolute dire as have the home games with West Ham, Stoke and the last 5 away games.
If ever a team had relegation written all over them it is Blackburn Rovers. Keep Alladyce and you keep your premiership status simple as! You also protect your investment in a premiership club, Venky's 46 million pounds investment will be worth "zip" once Rovers are relegated to the N Power Championship.
Apart from Mrs Desia liking "to be entertained" the other reason for Rovers dramatic decline has to be Jerome Anderson and his friends at Kantaro, which incidentally include soccer pundit Charlie Nicholas. How do you explain the appointment of Assistant Manager John Jenson? Any manager worth his salt will tell you that the most important decision is appointing the right assistant.
Steve Kean appointed Jenson, who he didnt know after they were introduced by agent Jerome Anderson, whose client is John Jenson. Enough said!! It would appear Kentaro agency are lining their pockets at the Rovers supporters and Venky's expense. Still have doubts? Then consider this apart from Kean also being Jerome Anderson's client what about the signing of Rochina and Formica, both young, both inexperienced, both unproven, both certainly not yet premiership standard, both reportedly costing 3 million!
Who's their agent? Don't ask its frightening. Can you imagine for one minute Alladyce and Williams paying that sort of money for unproven players? Not a chance! Not exactly the pedigree of player to get you out of a relegation scrap. Rochina even got on to the pitch a Fulham in place of the experienced Santa Cruz. Who's picking the team Kean or Jerome Anderson?
Kean has the allure of a bank manager, he looks like one and talks like one. Blackburn have lost the charisma, presence and profile of Alladyce, Ewood lacks the ambiance Alladyce brought to it and Sam gave an opinion the football world listened to, some might not agree but they listened. When Kean gives an opinion no one cares, who wants the opinion of "the bank manager". Who is he? What has he achieved? Not enough to be manager of a premiership club, that's for sure.
Balaja Roa one of Kean's bosses says of Kean he likes him because "he smiles a lot, and is always busy" so that's ok then? Blackburn Rovers future is in the hands of a Scotsman who smiles a lot!
Are you listening Sam now you know where you went wrong, smile more! If Blackburn were properly run Sam Alladyce would still be in a job. Kean is therefore the beneficiary of a strange new regime who think Alladyce should have "entertained" more, been in the premiership top six and on course for the champions league, you really couldn't make it up. If you didn't laugh you would cry, which all Blackburn Rovers fans will doing come May.
To entertain in the premiership and be in the top six will take more money than the Venky's have. Even Manchester United aren't entertaining, but again they have a manager who knows what he is doing. Signing Brazilian has-beens and appointing foreign managers is not the answer, particularly to get out of the N Power Championship!!
Blackburn may beat Blackpool this Saturday and get to 35 points, they will have to hope 35 points are enough to stay up because not many more points will be coming their way. On the other hand they may loose to Blackpool. Then as Cricket pundit David Lloyd would say "start the car" Its All Over!
And finally ...
Mrs Desai has talked about re-naming Ewood Park to The Venky Stadium. Dont even go there Mrs Desia, most supporters will not attend Ewood under any other name. Its amazing how short a time, just 3 months, it has taken for the new owners to be so unpopular. They were given every chance, even the dismissal of Alladyce met with apathy from some supporters, which surprised me, because I predicted how events would unfold from the day they sacked Sam, The appointment of a experienced manager of some repute would have allied the fears and doubts.
There is a solution of course. Go down on bended knees with sacks full of money and beg Alladyce and his staff to return and show Kean, Anderson, Jenson and Kentaro the Exit door!!
